The Alchemy FW 800 PCI is simply installed in a PCI slot of your Mac or PC. There is no need to install any third-party (non-Apple or non-Microsoft) software.

Two 9-pin bilingual ports

The two FireWire 800 (9-pin) connectors will run will all your latest FW 800 peripherals as well as your existing FireWire 400 devices (with converter cable).

Single 6-pin port

A great feature of the Alchemy FW 800 PCI is the single ‘old-style’ 6-pin FireWire port. No need to purchase expensive converter cables (9 to 6 pin) to run your FireWire 400 peripherals.

Powered through the PCI bus or main power supply

If you wish to offload some power drain from your PCI bus, simply connect the power cable provided to the Alchemy FW 800 PCI card.
